Welcome to What America Wants. Our mission is to post Bills on this website which Congress votes on and provide a forum for citizens to cast their votes for or against the same Bills to see if congress is doing "What America Wants". We realize this is not as attractive and entertaining as some social networking sites but think it is very valuable to have the ability to let each other know what we want and to compare to what is being done. Please take the time to vote. We will make results available and attempt to have these results represented in an appropriate forum to make Congress aware that America is paying attention to the details of what they do and America has the ability to unite in an organized manner thanks to the power of the internet. We no longer have to be scattered and disorganized. With the click of a button and in less time than it takes to update your dating status online you can make a difference in the way this country is being managed. You can have a say in the way the money is being spent. Bills will be briefly described below and links posted to actual Bill documents so visitors may make informed decisions. Please let us know "What America Wants".
Thank you
Is your Representative voting the way you think they should? Interesting, the things you find when researching Congressional votes. You may think Bills that seem like "no brainers" such as S. 2038 "to prohibit Members of Congress and employees of Congress from using nonpublic information derived from their official positions for personal benefit" would pass or fail (in this case pass) unanimously. Surprisingly, three members of congress were against a law which would prevent them from profiting from insider knowledge.
